Buyers Guide - Expenses
The following Expenses are commonly associated with the acquisition of property in Malta:
- The Duty on document or Transfer tax is 5% of the property value. For first time buyers, the duty is 3.5% on the first € 116,469.
- There are also Legal Fees. They can average between 1% - 1.5%
- Ministry of Finance fee € 233 to apply for an A.I.P. Permit. This fee is charged to non-residents.
