The Verdala International School facilitates educational processes through the English language. The VIS provides opportunities to students of all nationalities, giving them the chance to achieve their maximum potential in an environment that focuses on individual development and school community participation.
School Environment:
- The staff is made up of professionally qualified and experienced instructors; about a fifth of them having a Masters Degrees or equivalent.
- Class sizes are established at about 15 students; no more than 17. This provides of staff / student ratio of approximately 1:7.
- The VIS facility grounds consist of Fort Pembroke, and two adjoining buildings, forming a six-acre campus.
- Both Elementary and Secondary students have libraries, each located in appropriate sections of the campus. Both libraries have internet access, computerized card catalogues, and CD ROM databases.
- At every educational level, the school provides state of the art computer labs built around PC networks.
- Three separate and well-equipped science labs are available for secondary students who require them for physics, biology, and chemistry coursework.
- With its gymnasium, outdoor basketball court, and the National Swimming Pool complex available to students, VIS is concerned with providing quality physical education classes as well as academic ones.
- Basketball, volleyball, fencing, pottery, chess, drama, and photography are offered as extra-curricular activities by VIS.
- VIS has made a concerted effort to provide well-developed Art, Music and Drama programs. In fact, the school presents multiple drama productions every year. This facility also offers students the chance to visit theaters, concerts, and art exhibitions through different field trip excursions.
- VIS, as with all schools, provides a daily lunch program, through local catering services.
